Splurge! magazine readers are treated to a peek inside the highly anticipated Ambassador Hotel Wichita located in the historic Union National Bank Building at the corner of Broadway and Douglas. Built in 1926 as a Chicago-style skyscraper, the 14-story building was the tallest building in Kansas upon its completion. Vacant for the past 12 years the building is in the midst of a multimillion dollar renovation. The historic splendor of the building will be maintained as the Ambassador Hotel is transformed into downtown Wichita’s premier luxury, boutique hotel. Executive Vice President, Michael Frimel reports that construction is on schedule to be ready for the grand opening in December 2012. Perfect timing for a New Year’s Celebration!
The Ambassador Hotel’s 117 guest rooms and suites are each uniquely configured to highlight the building’s character. Over sized accommodations welcome guests with rich, soothing tones of gray, cream and deep purple.
