Corvette Club Car Show

A May Display of Classy Corvettes

Written by Julie Underwood Burton

If you would like to see America’s classiest sports cars here in Wichita, be sure to mark your calendar for the second Saturday in May and plan to join Chevy Corvette fans from all around the region.

Wichita’s Air Capital Corvette Club is proudly celebrating its 60 years as a club, and since 2011, they have hosted the annual ACCC All Corvette Show on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Their first show ever was touted more as a “Show and Shine” and was hosted by the Red Coach Inn with approximately 30 cars entered. Since then, the location of the show has changed several times as it continues to grow.

100 Gleaming Corvettes

This year’s gathering of Corvettes will mark 15 years for the show and will be held again at Davis Moore Chevrolet, thanks to their support as a sponsor of the event. An estimated 100 Corvettes, representing all generations of this extremely popular car, are expected to be on the lot, along with their owners, for everyone to see. The car show has been described by club members as a “labor of love” and the first show only happened when a manager from the Red Coach Inn on west Kellogg called and asked the club’s late president, Dale Brotton, if they could put on a car show in their parking lot.

Today, Dale’s wife Barbara recalls her husband informing her that together “they” would need to organize a car show within two months. Although they lost Dale several years ago, his enthusiasm lives on. Many fellow club members have stepped up to help over the years, and their mission has continued: to simply have fun with other Corvette owners and share their passion with others, whether they are club members or Corvette owners or not.

Trophies, Drawings and the Corvette Cafe

The 2026 Air Capital Corvette Club Car Show will be held Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The rain date for the show is the following Saturday, May 16. The public is invited to attend. The club has collected door prizes ranging from restaurant coupons to tickets to local events. During the car show, they will also hold a raffle and a 50/50 Pot Drawing. Club car awards will be presented to the best cars in each generation and trophies for the special categories of People’s Choice, Sponsor’s Choice and overall Best in Show. There will also be a Color Guard presentation and singing of the National Anthem, which has been a popular addition in recent shows, plus a local D.J. will be playing all the favorite hits and taking requests. Food and drink will be provided by a local food truck and the club’s Corvette Cafe is returning by popular demand offering hamburgers and hot dogs grilled by members of the club.

Most importantly, the Air Capital Corvette Club chooses a charity to support, and their current charity is Toys for Tots. Event goers are encouraged to bring a new toy or gift for a child between the ages of 11 and 15 to give to one of the Marines in uniform on site, or a donation of $20 is suggested. All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots.

Club members hope you will make plans to attend. They welcome all spectators and passersby for an event filled with food, fun, friends and fellowship — and many incredible classy Corvettes on gleaming display.
