Storytime Village is working to help students rise in their reading achievements. Through a collaborative effort with schools, the community and corporate partners, the organization’s Read and Rise program helps to instill a lifelong love of reading in children, promote the parent’s role as the first and most important teacher, and give them the tools to be strong readers.

This fall, the Read and Rise program will introduce ambassadors that have “risen to the challenge to address the children’s literacy crisis,” says Storytime Village CEO Prisca Barnes.

Storytime Village’s mission in the fight to improve reading includes providing access to books, creating family engagement, supporting early literacy, and engaging in advocacy and awareness.

Through school visits, family literacy nights and fundraising events, Read and Rise’s newly recognized ambassadors will continue the important foundational work of Storytime Village and look to positively impact literacy and the futures of our community’s families and children.
